First off, I guess I need to clarify something - I am not a writer. So don't think I'm trying to do a "Julie & Julia" thing. I just thought it would be fun to blog this mural I'm working on. Although I would be open to a movie deal if someone wanted to make an offer. I could see a movie based on the real life adventures of a mural artist and the project he worked on. Anywho, here we go. I hope you enjoy it as much I enjoy talking about myself.
The Ben Wheeler Development Company wanted to put some kind of mural on the blank brick wall on the south side of the renovated strip center. It was a big ole blank wall, just screaming for something to be painted on it.
I have always wanted to recreate an old illustrated wall advertisement. I love advertising from the 40's & 50's - the golden age of illustration. So when they asked me to do this, I got really excited.
After a little digging, I found some inspiration and was ready to start the sketch.
